Aviodrome 2025

The Aviodrome in Lelystad is located at Lelystad airport. It has a very interesting collection with some unique exhibitions. The museum is based upon an educative thematic concept. Aerodynamica principles and other technologies are demonstrated with childrens games. The overall museum impression is modern and has some cool exhibitions even for merely aircraft interrested enthusiasts! All aircraft and exhibitions are based on the Dutch history - civilian and military.

The main hall has some very nice replica's as well as original authentic aircraft from the early ages of aircraft flying!

The World War 2 exhibition has a Fokker flying overhead Dutch countryside while in combat - a Ju 51 is dropping German Fallschirmjager over Holland. Some modelkit diorama's also depicted some scenes of this era.

Post World War 2 produced newer types of all sorts of aircraft which were in Dutch service like a Royal Netherlands Air Force Tiger Moth training aircraft, KLM Constellation and Dutch produced Fokker F27.

Outside a Saab J37 Viggen and MiG21 are on display - with steps to look into the cockpit. A real life mock up of early ages Schiphol buildings are set up together with a KLM Fokker F27.

Among other aircraft outside are an accessible Antonov An2 (heavily worn due to being a kids playground) Dutch Navy SP2H Neptune and some Wold War 2 types.

An aircraft maintenance/ restoration hall (depot) also holds some very interesting models; like two Dokata's and a Dutch Navy Grumman S2A Tracker.

Jet era hangars hold a Gloster Meteor, Hawker Hunter, F104 Starfighter and S4 Machtrainer. All in perfect (exhibition)shape.

A real life Dutch KLM B747 is on display which can be accessed and explored keeping this jumbojet heritage alive.
