Old Relics

To the left a 19th century woman’s waistband clasp; very fashionable and decorated with flowers. To the right a Dutch tax payers bicycle plate, readable as 1936-1937.

An old horse riders spur, dating back to late Middle Ages/ early new era. The side missing the round attachment plate is bended.

Cattle earmarks - to the left a modern 20th century aluminium earmark and to the right several earlier brass models.

A fragment of tin dredger lid, used for powder (spices) or salt/ pepper. To the right a window locker pin (the eyelet was used to attach a cord).


Fragment of a 19th century woman's (fashionable) pouch clasp.

The small holes on the downside of the fragment were used to sow the cloth onto the metal brace.


A small piece of a (hollow) fourragère ('nestel'), used at the end of a cord which was used on military uniforms. Dated 18th/ 19th century.

Parta of tin kettle/ oil lamp/ jug - most likely the handle itself or decorations. Many parts of all kind of tin (alloy) house wear can be found on fields - some too small to identify, unlike these findings.
