2018 Belgian Air Force Days - Kleine Brogel
In 2018 instead of the september held Sanicole Airshow the Belgian Air Force Days were organized at Kleine Brogel airbase. Many different aircraft types attended this show, the highlight consisted of Ukrainian Su27's including an Il76 transport aircraft. These guys were bascially already at war with Russia - years later they would see year after year continuous combat defending Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Flankers had their very distinctive and quite beautiful grey/ blue/ blue modern pattern colour scheme - these photographs have no colour adjustments! The 831st Tactical Aviation Brigade was based on Myrhorod airbase in between Kharkiv and Kyiv. In 2022 this base was struck with Russian Iskander missiles. As of this date the composition and operational base of this unit is unknown - but they are definitely still fighting the frontlines in 2025.
