A spectacular jet crash occurred on 31 March, when a F2H-3 Banshee came in too low and crashed at the beginning of the flight deck. Breaking in two, resulting in a huge fireball, the forward half of the jet skipped across the flightdeck, trailing fire and debris (photo on the right - found on the internet without source). Fire fighters got immediately to the scene and the pilot climbed out of the cockpit unharmed. In this photo lot the aftermath is photographed when this F2H was discarded overboard by the carrier crew into the sea.
