2018 Belgian Air Force Days - Kleine Brogel
In 2018 instead of the september held Sanicole Airshow the Belgian Air Force Days were organized at Kleine Brogel airbase. Many different aircraft types attended this show, the highlight consisted of Ukrainian Su27's including an Il76 transport aircraft. These guys were bascially already at war with Russia - years later they would see year after year continuous combat defending Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Flankers were adorned with their very distinctive and quite beautiful grey/ blue/ blue splinter pattern colour scheme - these photographs have no colour adjustments! The 831st Tactical Aviation Brigade was based on Myrhorod airbase in between Kharkiv and Kyiv. In 2022 this base was struck by Russian Iskander missiles. As of this date the composition and operational base of this unit is unknown - but they are definitely still fighting the frontlines in 2025.
During the spottersday all participants of the Belgian Air Force days arrived. All static aircraft could also be seen airborne, several units had transport aircraft arriving/ departing. The static area had the taxiway in front of it, which was perfect for photographs of aircraft passing by with static aircraft in the background.

Helicopters were also well presented; a Danish EH101, Austrian and Belgian Anlouette III, French Tiger, Polish Mi8 Hip and a special c/s Belgian Sea King all attendend.
In between the arrivals of participants and transports (and departures of these), several aircraft practised their demo flights. Among the most interesting were the Belgian demo Viper, Dutch Hunter and Italian F35. The Royal Jordanian Falcons and a Czech Gripen adorned with 100 yrs tail also flew their demo's.
